Councilman Joins Panel for SPJ/LA’s Upcoming Event: “The People vs. the Paparazzi: Our Right to Privacy, Their Right to Know”
Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine, who has introduced a motion to create a “personal safety zone” to more strictly regulate paparazzi, has joined the panel for the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists’ event on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Join us for an exciting and informative mini-seminar on celebrity coverage as described from the perspectives of a city official, a reporter, a paparazzo and an attorney. Find out what happens when tabloid-favorites Britney, Paris and Lindsay make news on the streets and in the courts of Los Angeles.
Our panelists include:
- Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine
- Andrew Blankstein, Los Angeles Times reporter
- John McCoy, president of the Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles
- Jean-Paul Jassy, First Amendment attorney with Bostwick & Jassy
